1. Aims of KNU Institute of Engineering Design Technology
(IEDT)
1) In order to promote the nationwide development of industrial
technology, appropriate individuals from universities and
industries will engage in studies on engineering design technology
for the development and renovation of state-of-the-art technology
through educational-industrial collaboration.
2) By studying and analyzing all issues related to the development
of up-to-date design technology, the IEDT will guide the direction
of national, corporate, and academic technological research.

| ▶ Overall Aims
The IEDT will develop a strong design technology support
system in each mechanical field including auto-parts, electronics,
and architectural industries, and initiate educational-industrial
collaboration throughout the Daegu and Kyungsangbuk-Do area
so that companies can vitalize the national economy and reinforce
international competitiveness by accumulating and improving
technology, increasing productivity and quality, manufacturing
high value-added products, and finally maximizing the profits.
IEDT will support local companies through the education and
training of skilled technicians, sharing recognized equipment,
gathering and analyzing technological information, disseminating
information, and reinforcing educational-industrial collaboration
so that companies in related fields can achieve autonomous
